Scotiabank Toronto is seeking a Staff Platform Cloud Engineer to design, build, and manage enterprise cloud platforms and services. You will own Kubernetes-based solutions, drive security and reliability, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, scalable infrastructure, and hands-on development with Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize in a modern cloud environment at Scotiabank.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing cloud solutions on Azure, AWS or GCP.
• 5+ years container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• 5+ years experience with CI/CD tools.
• 5+ years of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize).
• Strong cloud platform knowledge and security considerations.
• Excellent communication to a technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, manage, and maintain cloud platforms to enable enterprise use.
• Lead through technical expertise and execution across teams.
• Provide senior guidance on Kubernetes and cloud-native systems.
• Own enterprise cloud products’ design, software, and processes.
• Write, refactor, and optimize code for reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with architects to scope and estimate tasks.
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and foster high performance.
