Job summary

Humber Polytechnic is seeking a Senior Platform Administrator for Salesforce to manage configurations, data quality, and security across Education Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. You will support user adoption, deploy platform upgrades, and document processes as part of a collaborative ITS team.

The role emphasizes hybrid work from the North Campus with a strong focus on governance, data integrity, and reliable platform operations in a large educational environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor level IT/CS or related field required.
  • Minimum five years in large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven Salesforce admin experience including Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of security, data governance, and release management.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Salesforce platform and integrations (Education Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud).
  • Configure declarative tools, objects, fields, flows, validation rules, and automation.
  • Maintain data quality, access controls, and security.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and user guides; train end users.

About The Senior Platform Administrator - Salesforce Role

Under the direction of the Technology Product Owner, the Senior Platform Administrator, Salesforce is responsible for managing configurations, customizations, data quality, and security, as well as providing user support, system upgrades, and comprehensive documentation for the Salesforce platform and related technologies. The role will focus on supporting Humber’s vision of a Digital Campus by ensuring optimal system performance, supporting platform users, and contributing to Humber’s overarching business outcomes. The Senior Platform Administrator will partner with the Technology Product Owner to enable a seamless user experience across the Salesforce platform and integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Platform Administration and Management: Administer and maintain the Salesforce platform, including Education Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and MuleSoft integrations. Manage user access, profiles, roles, permissions, and data‑sharing rules to ensure secure and effective platform use.
  • Configuration and Customization: Configure and enhance Salesforce capabilities using declarative tools, including objects, fields, flows, validation rules, and automation, to support business processes and improve user experience.
  • Integration Management: Support and maintain integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using MuleSoft and other integration patterns, ensuring reliable data exchange and alignment with institutional standards.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain system documentation, user guides, and training materials. Provide training and support to end users to drive effective platform adoption.
  • Operational Support and Release Management: Support day‑to‑day platform operations, including incident resolution, feature testing, seasonal Salesforce releases, and ongoing system enhancements to ensure platform stability and continuity.
  • Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Partner with product teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to enable new capabilities, resolve issues, and continuously improve platform functionality and performance.
  • Performance and Data Monitoring: Monitor platform usage, data quality, and system performance. Support reporting and analytics capabilities and ensure alignment with best practices for security, governance, accessibility, and data integrity.
  • Work within a product management model, supporting Product Owners by ensuring platform configurations, changes, and enhancements are technically sound and aligned with platform and architectural standards.

Education
  • A three‑year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Continued education in Information Technology or equivalent experience isrequired.
Experience/Skills
  • At least five years of hands‑on experience in large, complex environments designing, building, operating, maintaining, and securing enterprise‑class solutions.
  • Proven experience administering the Salesforce platform, including Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud, with a strong understanding of platform capabilities, data management, and governance best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform administration, with experience supporting Salesforce Education Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and related integrated technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce administration principles, including user management, profiles, roles, permission sets, sharing rules, page layouts, record types, flows, validation rules, and automation.
  • Experience administering enterprise Salesforce environments, including access management, security configuration, data quality, and support for stable and sustainable platform operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving platform, configuration, data, and user access issues, including root cause analysis and coordination with technical and business stakeholders as required.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce security, governance, and platform best practices, including role‑based access, data visibility, compliance, and release management.
  • Experience monitoring platform health, managing incidents and service requests, and supporting operational processes to ensure service reliability and performance.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, support materials, and knowledge articles.
  • Experience providing user support, guidance, and training related to Salesforce platform capabilities, processes, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce integration patterns and supporting integrated solutions, including experience working with MuleSoft or other enterprise integration technologies.
  • Familiarity with data management, reporting, dashboards, and analytics practices to support business insight, operational effectiveness, and data integrity.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues, recommend practical solutions, and identify opportunities to improve user experience and platform effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with administration of related enterprise platforms and tools, including Power Platform or other cloud technologies, is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of higher education data landscapes is considered an asset.
