Job summary

Cenovus Energy is seeking a Senior Plant Engineer to join our Calgary-based Process & Facilities Engineering team. This role drives safe, reliable and compliant facility operations, delivering engineering solutions to support asset value and operational excellence.

You will lead safety processes, provide technical support to field operations, and mentor teams across disciplines in pursuit of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have P.Eng.

Qualifications

• P.Eng. designation registered with APEGA.
• 8+ years of experience in operations, facilities and production engineering.
• Strong knowledge of upstream oil and gas facilities and applicable industry codes (ASME B31.3, CSA Z662).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, exercise technical judgment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety and process safety throughout design, execution and operation of facilities.
• Provide technical and process engineering expertise to field operations, including process modelling and equipment evaluations.
• Deliver day-to-day engineering support and troubleshoot operational challenges with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support facility shutdowns from planning through execution.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and environmental reporting.
• Lead development of facility projects including scope, design, cost estimating and economic evaluation.
• Identify opportunities to improve facility performance and maximize asset value.
• Mentor and share knowledge to strengthen technical capability within the team.
