Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks an experienced Senior Project Scheduler to lead the development of project planning and scheduling strategy across disciplines. You will ensure full integration with cost control and EVM, mentor junior planners, and drive continuous improvement in tools and processes.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in engineering/construction project planning, advanced Primavera P6 skills, and a proven track record with executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling in engineering/construction.
• Strong expertise in critical path analysis, progress measurement, EVM and reporting.
• Advanced Primavera P6 and integrated project controls knowledge.

Overview

Your role

• Lead the development of the overall project planning and scheduling strategy, including schedule structure, logic, phasing, milestones, and integration across disciplines.
• Ensure full schedule integration across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Including expertise in Cost and Change Control processes.
• Lead resource and budget loading activities and ensure Primavera data is properly extracted and shared with cost control.
• Ensure alignment between schedule, cost, progress measurement, and Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
• Issue schedules for both internal and external stakeholders and ensure accurate progress measurement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and control schedule performance, identify variances, analyze earned value impacts, and report critical schedule issues.
• Lead change control management and ensure accurate progress measurement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior and intermediate planners, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including tools, templates, lessons learned, and best practices.

About you

• Bachelor's degree is required; a degree in Engineering is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling. Experience in engineering and construction projects environment is considered a strong asset.
• Strong expertise in critical path analysis, progress measurement, Earned Value Management (EVM), and experience in Project planning, analyzing and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of the general project controls policies and procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with strong knowledge of integrated project controls systems and processes.
• Proven ability to work effectively and confidently with clients, executive stakeholders, and project leadership teams.
• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills are required with attention to details.
