Job summary

A design and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Piping/Layout Designer in Edmonton. You will be in charge of creating 3D models and leading design reviews while mentoring junior designers. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in piping and layout design, proficient in CAD software, and strong knowledge of plant processes.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in piping and layout design.
  • Proficient in Cadworx 3D software and AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
  • Strong knowledge of Isogen for spool generation.

Job Description
Senior Piping / Layout Designer

Description:
Reporting to the Drafting Manager, the Senior Piping / Layout Designer is an integral part of the drafting and design team.

Responsibilities:

Check and update P&IDs.

Create accurate 3D layout and piping models.

Take the lead in 3D model reviews.

Check and approve vendor-supplied drawings.

Produce fabrication isometric drawings.

Create and detail general arrangement drawings.

Create pressure vessel models and fabrication details.

Assist piping checker as needed.

Mentor junior and intermediate designers.

Create and maintain drawing standards.

Make recommendations for process and efficiency improvements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

10+ years of experience in piping and layout design.

Proficient in the use of Cadworx 3D software and AutoCAD (2D and 3D).

Strong knowledge of Isogen for spool generation.

Strong understanding of plant processes and layout principles.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
