Job summary

LG Electronics Canada in Toronto is seeking a Sr. Physical AI Research Scientist to design and develop robot agents that operate safely in the real world.

This role focuses on physical intelligence agents that perceive, reason, and act under real-world constraints, with emphasis on safety, uncertainty, and reliability. You will collaborate with researchers and engineers across teams to build safe, reliable, and robust agents, contribute to safety architectures, and advance simulation-to-reality

Qualifications

• PhD in ML/AI/Robotics or MSc with significant R&D experience.
• Strong publication record in top conferences (NeurIPS/ICLR/CVPR) related to robotics or ML.
• Expertise in robotic foundation models, including diffusion policies and world models.
• Experience with robot simulation and deployment pipelines (ROS, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo).

Responsibilities

• Turn research concepts into validated implementations.
• Contribute to data collection strategies and training pipelines.
• Develop imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and multimodal learning algorithms.
• Fine-tune robotic foundation models (VLMs, VLAs, world models).
• Design safe, scalable simulation-to-real pipelines for real robots.
