Job summary

TD Bank Canada Trust in Calgary seeks a Senior Personal Banker- Investing Trainee to deliver sound financial planning advice and promote customer loyalty through investment guidance.

You will develop expertise in investment products, Real Estate Secured Lending, and day-to-day banking while supporting clients and referring opportunities. This role includes a mobility clause within the assigned district as you progress in training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or Post-Secondary degree preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant investment experience.
• IFC accreditation or equivalent required prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Create a consistent and exceptional customer experience in the branch with focus on investment advisory.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of investment products and TD offerings.
• Ask questions to uncover customer needs and propose suitable solutions.
• Maintain professional branch presence and ensure accurate documentation per policy.
• Engage in proactive outreach to discuss portfolio updates and opportunities for clients.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Create a consistent and exceptional customer experience in the branch, with specialty and predominant focus in investment advice and experiences
• Requires deep knowledge and expertise of investment products; with in-depth knowledge of Real Estate Secured Lending, day-to-day banking, and all other TD products and services
• Ask thoughtful questions to uncover and understand Customer needs, owning solutions that align to mandate and bringing in an expert for needs outside of capability
• Improve customer financial confidence through ongoing dialogue and by answering questions and providing advice
• Act as a subject matter expert in the branch for both customers and colleagues regarding all products, services, policies, and procedures of TD - especially regarding both personal banking and business banking products/services or policies/procedures owned within the Branch
• Maintain a professional and inviting space in all common areas of the branch, adhering to premises, marketing, and/or regulatory guidelines, paying attention to the office spaces in which the Senior Personal Banker - Investing occupies
• Consistently engage in proactive customer outreach (via phone, email, etc.) to discuss portfolio updates and/or additional opportunities which best service the customer's needs; responsible for being present in the community for additional customer outreach
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends to support advice recommendations
• Ensure documentation that is prepared and completed is accurate, properly reflects the customer/business' intentions, and retained in accordance with business policies and procedures
• Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
• Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by proactively attracting, acquiring and retaining customers / advice opportunities and referrals, to drive growth for TD; this role is particularly responsible for achieving market share growth by bringing new business to TD

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma and/or
• Post-Secondary or Undergraduate degree (in a related field) preferred
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) accreditation or equivalent required prior to start date
• Certificate in Financial Services Advice (CFSA) within 90 days of hire of start date

Trainee Mobility

This opportunity includes a mobility clause that requires a candidate to be mobile within the Assigned District. Upon completion of the training program, we intend to assign you to a position which will be compatible with your training. The timing of this posting will be determined by your progress in the training program and our ability to identify an appropriate opportunity.
