Job summary

TD Canada Trust is seeking a Senior Personal Banker - Home Borrowing Trainee to help clients achieve their financial goals with expert home lending guidance and advice. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, comprehensive knowledge of real estate secured lending, and the ability to refer customers to TD partners when needed.

You will engage customers in the branch, conduct proactive outreach, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products, market trends, and TD policies.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or post-secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • IFC accreditation or equivalent within 90 days of start date.
  • CFSA within 6 months of start date.
  • Trainee mobility to relocate within assigned district.

Responsibilities

  • Create a consistent and exceptional customer experience in the branch with a focus on home borrowing.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Real Estate Secured Lending products and TDCT offerings.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to uncover customer needs and bring in experts as needed.
  • Improve customer financial confidence through ongoing dialogue and advice.
  • Serve as a branch subject matter expert on TD products, services, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, inviting branch space compliant with guidelines.
  • Proactively outreach to discuss portfolio updates and opportunities for customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of local market, competitors, and economic trends to support recommendations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation reflecting customer intents and policy retention.
  • Collaborate with team to support growth and share information openly.

Education

High School diploma and/or Post-Secondary or Undergraduate degree (in a related field) preferred
2+ years of relevant experience
Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) accreditation or equivalent within 90 days of start date
Certificate in Financial Services Advice (CFSA) within 6 months of start date

Then join us as a Senior Personal Banker - Home Borrowing Trainee and demonstrate your subject matter expertise in providing sound financial planning advice to promote customer loyalty and investment returns.

In this role, you will:

  • Create a consistent and exceptional customer experience in the branch, with specialty and predominant focus in home borrowing advice and experiences
  • Requires deep knowledge and expertise of the Real Estate Secured Lending products; with in-depth knowledge of investing, day-to-day banking, and all other TDCT products and services
  • Ask thoughtful questions to uncover and understand Customer needs, owning solutions that align to mandate and bringing in an expert for needs outside of capability
  • Improve customer financial confidence through ongoing dialogue and by answering questions and providing advice
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the branch for both customers and colleagues regarding all products, services, policies, and procedures of TD - especially regarding both personal banking and business banking products/services or policies/procedures owned within the Branch
  • Maintain a professional and inviting space in all common areas of the branch, adhering to premises, marketing, and/or regulatory guidelines, paying attention to the office spaces in which the Senior Personal Banker - Home Borrowing occupies
  • Consistently engage in proactive customer outreach (via phone, email, etc.) to discuss portfolio updates and/or additional opportunities which best service the customer's needs; responsible for being present in the community for additional customer outreach
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends to support advice recommendations
  • Ensure documentation that is prepared and completed is accurate, properly reflects the customer/business' intentions, and retained in accordance with business policies and procedures
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
  • Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by proactively attracting, acquiring and retaining customers / advice opportunities and referrals, to drive growth for TD; this role is particularly responsible for achieving market share growth by bringing new business to TD

This opportunity includes a mobility clause that requires a candidate to be mobile within the Assigned District.
