Job description

Senior Permanent Information Security Specialist required to guide and implement security best practices, security architecture reviews and security technologies.

Our Mississauga based Client requires the services of a Senior Permanent Information Security Specialist to guide and implement security best practices, security architecture reviews and security technologies.

Role:

This role will require a high degree of autonomy and consensus building amongst a cross-functional team of individuals and lines of business. Experience in implementing and hardening DLP, BYOD/MobileAV, Office 365, & Email Security (DMARC, DKIM, SPF) solutions, and familiarity with security architecture concepts is an asset. Ideally, knowledge of IAM governance is also an asset but not required.

Contribute to the development of Information Security standards and procedures for business units, aligning with corporate security objectives and leading-edge practices, in coordination with IT Process Development Leaders and the Information Security Manager.

1. Support the delivery of Information Security Operations and Technology programs covering applications, tools, anti-virus, encryption, firewalls, implementation support, vulnerability identification, system assessments, security advice, business resumption, and disaster recovery planning.
2. Deliver or oversee the delivery of contingency planning and disaster recovery programs for business units/departments.
3. Contribute to the development of security standards and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and industry standards.
4. Implement and support Information Security programs, including frameworks for applications, tools, anti-virus, encryption, firewalls, vulnerability assessments, security consultations, and business continuity planning.
5. Investigate security breaches or attempted breaches to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
6. Lead projects, assign tasks, resolve issues, and evaluate team performance as required.

Must Have:

Requires a solid understanding of computer science, information technology, and telecommunications systems.

Must have experience coordinating and analyzing enterprise security systems across diverse platforms, operating systems, and applications, especially Windows NT and UNIX.

Experience with networking products, large-scale systems implementation, and management.

Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Information Security Specialist.
