Role Description

The Performance Engineering team at Form is responsible for testing, operating, maintaining, and reporting on the performance of Form's three full-scale system prototypes. We are looking for an experienced performance engineer to analyze data streams from Form battery systems operating at pilot and utility-scale power plants, derive and report key performance metrics, and support our technical teams. Your role involves crafting clear insights from complex data, developing analysis scripts, visualizing trends, and presenting findings to cross-functional teams, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our system deployments.

What you'll do:
  1. Process, analyze, and interpret battery, system, and plant data through Form's cloud storage system using custom Python scripts.
  2. Define KPIs and document calculation procedures, including data collection, cleaning, analysis automation, and visualization.
  3. Create automated data processing scripts to track KPIs across projects.
  4. Conduct gap analysis between in-field, in-lab, and modeled performance, contributing to root cause hypotheses and testing.
  5. Support the development and validation of models to predict system performance under various conditions.
  6. Collaborate with software and firmware engineers to optimize data collection and storage solutions for large-scale projects.
  7. Use field data to identify and predict issues, aiding root cause analysis with O&M and Engineering teams.
  8. Work with UI and technical support teams to define performance views for internal and external reporting.
What you'll bring:
  1. 5+ years experience in signal processing, data analysis, or performance engineering; experience in solar or battery systems is a plus.
  2. Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or mathematics.
  3. Proven experience developing analysis procedures and defining KPIs collaboratively.
