Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a senior Pega developer to design, build, and deploy Pega PRPC solutions. You will translate business needs into scalable Pega applications, develop workflows, UI, and case management, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

The role requires CSA/CSSA certifications, hands-on Pega experience, and familiarity with Agile practices. The position offers a path to leadership and a strong benefits package in a bank-wide cloud

Qualifications

  • Pega CSA and CSSA certifications are required.
  • Experience in financial services or banking projects is required.
  • Hands-on with latest Pega platform versions and financial frameworks like KYC/AML is preferred.

  • Develop workflows, rules, integrations, UI, and case management with Pega.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Pega developers.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing Pega apps.
  • Identify automation opportunities and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in code/design reviews and keep up with Pega features.

The Role

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payments Technology in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Pega PRPC Solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, high quality Pega applications.
  • Develop workflows, business rules, Integrations, UI, and case management capabilities with Pega.
  • Collaborate with BA's, architects and QA teams to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to junior Pega dev’s.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and optimize existing Pega applications.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify process automation opportunities and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in code/design reviews.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Pega platform features, versions and enhancements.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Collaborate closely with product and design teams.
  • Champion CI/CD best practices and improve reliability monitoring.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You’ll Bring:
Education & Certifications
  • Must be Pega CSA and CSSA certified in any version.
  • Must have experience in financial services or banking domain projects.
  • Good to have experience in Pega financial frameworks like KYC/AML, CLM... etc.
  • Must have Hands‑on with latest Pega platform versions.
