What - the Role:

On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a Senior Payroll Clerk. Reporting to an experienced Payroll Manager, you will work on a team processing multiple unionized payrolls for BC-based employees using various payroll systems. This is a 6-month contract on SWIM’s payroll, with potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment. SWIM will provide a detailed job description to interested candidates.

Who - the Candidate:

Candidates should have at least 2 years of progressive payroll experience, including processing end-to-end payroll, special payments, onboarding, terminations, wage increases, retro pay, union dues, vacation, and statutory remittances.

Experience with unionized payroll following collective agreements is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has worked on large, complex payrolls. Experience with hourly payroll and timesheets is highly preferred; salaried payroll experience is also acceptable. Must have issued ROEs and T4s/T4As. Benefits administration experience is a plus. Pursuit of PCP designation is beneficial.

The majority of employees are based in BC. Candidates should be familiar with large payroll systems and Excel.

Where:

The client’s office is located in North Vancouver. Free parking and easy transit access from the SeaBus terminal. The first 3 months are onsite; afterward, a hybrid work arrangement is possible.

How Much:

Hourly rate of $32 to $34, with potential increases based on tenure. If the position becomes permanent, employees are eligible for overtime, a pension plan, health/dental/vision benefits, paid vacation, wellness perks, and professional development support.
