Qualifications

You are an excellent team player who will advance our Total Rewards and operational strategies. Your payroll expertise, knowledge, and collaboration skills will be critical in delivering our products and services. Your insights into portfolio analytics and process improvements will influence strategic decisions. You will collaborate with internal partners, including P&C leadership, business stakeholders, and external entities like government agencies, to shape the future of work.

Here's how
  • Execution and support of payroll cycles
    • Ensure all payroll inputs and outputs comply with TELUS, legislative, and negotiated requirements
    • Meet Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements for internal and external audits
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and information sessions to ensure compliance with legislation and policies
    • Maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of team member data
    • Leverage and improve our SAP payroll system
    • Lead the delivery of the annual T4 and Relevé 1 programs
    • Update payroll and benefits process documentation on our intranet
  • Operate as a Trusted Advisor and Ambassador:
    • Provide guidance on escalated issues through research and analysis
    • Oversee issue resolution and communication within payroll functions
    • Collaborate with partners to support programs and initiatives
    • Build strong relationships across Canada within the P&C community and represent P&C Operations in meetings
  • Provide business insights and leadership
    • Maintain compliance with audit and government standards to avoid penalties
    • Implement payroll best practices to improve efficiency
    • Support monthly activity reporting for the P&C Operations dashboard
Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • 10+ years of payroll and compliance experience, preferably in large organizations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail
  • Experience with CRA and Revenu Québec
  • Proven track record of achieving objectives
  • Proficiency in Excel and SAP HR & Finance modules
  • Degree or diploma in Business or related fields, PCP or PLP designation preferred

Advanced English skills are required for interacting with external and internal parties in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • CHRP or CPA designation
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Experience in a unionized environment

Salary Range: $93,000-$139,000

Performance Bonus/Sales Incentive: 15%

Total compensation depends on skills, experience, and performance. Benefits include:
