Job summary

McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Montréal or Québec City seeks a Senior Paralegal to support complex corporate transactions, including reorganizations and due diligence, with supervision of junior staff in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years in corporate law, a Paralegal certificate, NUANS completion, and bilingual fluency in French and English; strong attention to detail and effective client communication are essential.

Qualifications

• College Degree/Certificate in Paralegal studies or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate law.
• NUANS Completion Certificate, as required.
• Bilingualism (French and English).

Responsibilities

• Providing independent professional support services, including assistance with complex transactions.
• Drafting documents for corporate reorganizations, tax reorganizations, and asset/share purchase transactions.
• Coordinating closings, due diligence, and ensuring accuracy of closing agendas and records.
• Mentoring junior paralegals and maintaining corporate databases and records.
• Attending closings and advising on compliance and reporting requirements.
