About the opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Oracle Developer to join our team at Dayforce, where you'll play a key role in evolving and enhancing aPay Dayforce application. This is a high-impact, specialized position that serves as a critical link between our infrastructure and development teams. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Oracle technology stack, you’ll work with autonomy, ownership, and the opportunity to shape best practices within our platform.

What you’ll get to do

Reporting to the Development Manager, the Senior Oracle Developer is accountable for the successful Support, Design, Development, Testing and documentation of assigned projects.

Responsibilities include :

• Tackle complex tasks and overcome technical challenges.
• Identify and suggest improvement opportunities.
• Plan and execute Oracle DB and Fusion Middleware upgrades and patches.
• Troubleshoot Oracle tech stack issues to ensure stability and performance.
• Break down complex stories into manageable tasks and deliver quality code.
• Support ideas with data and build business cases.
• Ensure code quality and implement test automation.
• Collaborate with QA to define test cases and manage regressions.
• Identify and communicate technical risks.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews.
• Provide customer support, including after-hours when needed.
• Guide and mentor junior developers.

Skills and experience we value

Expert in Oracle SQL and PL / SQL for complex, high performing database solutions.

Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware and DB administration.

Familiar with Oracle Forms, Reports, BI Publisher, and APEX.

5+ years in Oracle programming delivering scalable enterprise systems.

Skilled in scripting and automation (Shell, Python).

Agile-savvy, effective in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.

Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.

Strong in solution design and translating business needs into architecture.

Able to produce clear technical documentation.

Proficient in Git / GitHub and version control workflows.

Strong analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
