Source Code in Toronto is seeking a Sr. Database Administrator with extensive Oracle experience. The role is hybrid/on-site at Jarvis St, with initial onsite 4 days/week from Oct 20, 2025, then full on-site 5 days/week from Jan 5, 2026.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day Oracle DB operations, implement high-availability solutions, oversee backups, upgrades, and security improvements, and drive best practices across production and non-production environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years deploying and administering Oracle databases in operations.
• 5+ years DBA experience supporting Oracle for large enterprise solutions.
• 10+ years designing high-availability Oracle environments.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases across versions 8, 9, 10g, 11g, 12c.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of Oracle databases.
• Review backups, recoveries, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Monitor performance and tune databases for scalability.
• Plan storage, capacity, and HA/DR strategies.
• Manage database objects and security gaps mitigations.
• Provide SOP documentation for non-DBA staff.
• Develop knowledge transfer plans for OPS staff.
