Job description

The Senior Geologist is a senior technical role based in Ore Group’s Toronto office, reporting directly to the C-Suite. This position provides technical leadership across multiple Ore Group exploration and development projects, and plays a key role in evaluating new opportunities for corporate growth. The role requires 5–8 years of progressive, hands‑on experience across the exploration and resource development lifecycle, with periodic travel to project and site locations as programs require.

Key Responsibilities
Project Technical Leadership
  • Plan, execute, and oversee technical work programs — mapping, sampling, geophysics, geochemistry, and drilling — across multiple Ore Group projects.
  • Interpret exploration and geological data to guide targeting, drill planning, and resource definition.
  • Ensure all technical work meets or exceeds industry best practices and regulatory standards (e.g., NI 43-101 or equivalent).
  • Supervise and mentor junior geologists, technicians, and field or external consultants on assigned projects.
  • Conduct technical due diligence and geological evaluation of new property and acquisition opportunities.
  • Prepare technical assessments, risk reviews, and recommendations to support executive decision-making on new opportunities.
  • Support generative exploration efforts across the portfolio, including target generation and prospect ranking.
  • Report directly to the C-Suite on project progress, technical findings, budgets, and risks.
  • Prepare clear, concise technical reports, presentations, and briefing materials for executive-level audiences.
  • Translate complex geological data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Operational & Field Execution
  • Manage day-to-day field operations, schedules, and budgets for assigned projects.
  • Travel to project and site locations as required to oversee critical program phases and maintain field presence.
  • Uphold health, safety, environmental, and community engagement standards across all field activities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline; Master’s degree an asset.
  • 5–8 years of practical, progressive experience in mineral exploration and/or resource development.
  • Experience across multiple deposit types or commodities is an asset, given exposure to a diverse project portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of NI 43-101 (or equivalent) reporting requirements and standards.
  • Experience with modern exploration tools and methodologies, including geophysics, geochemistry, and drilling programs.
  • Professional designation (P.Geo. or equivalent, or eligibility for registration) required or strongly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project and site locations as required.
Core Competencies
  • Strong technical and analytical geological skills
  • Sound judgment in project evaluation and risk assessment
  • Clear, confident communication with executive stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
  • Comfortable operating in both field and office environments
  • Collegial, collaborative approach to teamwork

This role is suited to a technically strong, versatile geologist who moves fluidly between hands-on project work and higher-level opportunity evaluation, and who is comfortable engaging directly with senior executives.

The Company offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including base salary and performance-based incentives.
