Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

South Country Co-op is currently hiring a detail-oriented and organizedSenior Office Clerk to join our Finance Team based out of our Business Support Centre in Medicine Hat, AB.

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Senior Office Clerk plays a key role in supporting day-to-day administrative operations with a focus on accounts payable. This role is responsible for coordinating internal communication, managing documentation, and assisting with basic accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency across the finance function. The ideal candidate is professional, highly organized, and committed to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with maintaining and reconciling financial records and reports
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and related matters
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain files, reports, and other financial documents
  • Support the finance team with data entry, reporting, and reconciliation tasks
  • Coordinate communication between departments and external vendors
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and mail distribution
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through strong collaboration and communication
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Business or Office Administration (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an office or administrative role, preferably with exposure to accounts payable
  • Basic accounting knowledge is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively in a team setting
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday; 7.30am to 4.30pm
