Job summary

Arista Networks Canada is hiring world-class software engineers for our Packet Forwarding Engines and System software team. You will own features from definition to deployment, writing specs, design documents, tests, and code for EOS running on Arista's ASIC-based forwarding engines.

You will collaborate with hardware, diagnostic, and customer-support teams to triage issues and deliver robust software across Arista's data center networking products.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with required experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and understanding of UNIX or Linux environments.
• Deep understanding of IP networking or distributed systems and software engineering principles.
• Ability to design and implement solutions for small-to-medium problems with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Write functional and design specifications for packet forwarding engine features and system software.
• Implement solutions in C/C++ and Python for packet forwarding engine software and system software.
• Use vendor-provided libraries and test frameworks to validate software.
• Develop automated tests and triage issues found by tests and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team specifications and schedules.
