Job summary

Myticas Consulting seeks an experienced Network Service Engineer to support design, implementation, and optimization of network services in Ottawa. On-site 4 days a week, you will guide configurations, document use cases, and drive service design improvements with cross-functional teams.

You will act as a SME for network services, ensuring validation plans and documentation meet program objectives while supporting MEF 3.0 interfaces and data processing equipment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in carrier and customer network design, operations, deployment, and support.
• Broad experience or exposure across network product design, development, verification, deployment, and support.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS).
• Hands-on experience with network test devices and reporting tools such as Ixia and Spirent.
• Experience with network automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Layer 2/3 routing and switching solutions for traffic engineering and resource optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into network designs.
• Develop strategies for partner units to implement and manage network service architectures.
• Document and communicate network requirements to hardware/software teams and lab environments.
• Prepare test cases and performance metrics for MEF 3.0 interfaces and data processing equipment.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to product investigations and concept demonstrations.
