Cognizant is seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer in Vancouver, hybrid role with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote. The candidate will serve as a senior escalation point, handling complex enterprise network issues across LAN/WAN, cloud, and security domains, while mentoring junior engineers and driving automation initiatives.

The role requires 8+ years in enterprise networking and 5+ years in Network Operations, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

8+ years of enterprise networking experience.
5+ years in a Network Operations environment.
Experience supporting large, geographically distributed enterprises.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced L2/L3 support for network incidents and outages.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, SD‑WAN, cloud, and security environments.
Lead incident response for critical business‑impacting events and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Support network hardware refreshes, software upgrades, and technology deployments.
Review and implement network changes following change management processes.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Develop automation solutions using Python, Ansible, APIs, or Terraform.
Improve monitoring, observability, and operational efficiency.
Coordinate with vendors and technology partners to resolve complex issues.
