Job summary

StandardAero in Winnipeg, MB seeks a Senior Network Manager to oversee a global network infrastructure across 49 locations. You will lead a team of network professionals, implement policies, and drive security and reliability across all sites.

A strong background in large-scale network operations is essential. You will collaborate with architects, mentor staff, manage vendor contracts, and report to senior management on performance and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years IT or network engineering experience; 3-5 years in a management role.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of network professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement network policies, procedures and standards that align with the organization's objectives and industry best practices.
  • Collaborating with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
  • Mentoring networking team and actively developing a succession plan.
  • Ensure network security and availability by implementing appropriate security measures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement, taking proactive steps to maintain optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other IT systems and applications.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with SLAs and other agreements.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to enhance network infrastructure and recommending changes as appropriate.
  • Develop and manage the network equipment lifecycle practices, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on network performance, projects, and initiatives.

Our organization is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Senior Network Manager to oversee our network infrastructure and ensure its reliability, security and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a process-oriented background, with at least 5 years of experience in a management role for a large organization.

As Senior Network Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of network professionals, developing and implementing network policies, procedures and standards, and ensuring our network infrastructure meets the organization's needs at all of our 49 locations worldwide.

What you’ll do:

Position Requirements:
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a management role for a large organization, and 10+ years overall in IT or network engineering
  • Thorough understanding of network architecture, protocols, and technologies, including LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networking.
  • Proven experience in managing complex network infrastructure projects from conception to implementation.
  • Experience with network monitoring and performance analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance regulations, such as PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, MACRED and NIST.
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a process-oriented approach to management.
  • Cisco networks knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP are a plus.
  • Some domestic and international travel required.
