Job summary

You will lead complex escalations, support NOC operations, and help with pre-sales engagements and BoM creation. Strong vendor certifications and cloud networking experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of networking experience.
• University degree or diploma in IT or related field; relevant certifications.
• Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto and Fortinet devices.
• Solid knowledge of routing, VLANs, QoS, VPNs and SD-WAN.
• Experience with enterprise and public cloud networking.
• Familiarity with SNMP, SSH and API-based monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Architect and support secure WAN, LAN, WLAN and SD-WAN environments using FortiGate, FortiSwitch and FortiAP.
• Design, deploy and support enterprise wireless solutions.
• Provide senior-level escalation for complex network or security incidents.
• Support NOC environment and provide best practice monitoring procedures.
• Conduct capacity planning and availability analysis.
• Assist sales with pre-sales engineering and BoM creation.
• Perform security assessments, firewall policy audits and configuration hardening.
• Implement segmentation, micro-segmentation and NAC policies.
• Tune security profiles including Web Filtering, Anti-Malware, Application Control and IPS.

Job description

Title: Senior Network Specialist

Location: Halifax, NS or Moncton, NB

Hybrid: 4 days onsite

Travel Expectations: Travel 30% when necessary to customer offices.

Position Overview:

Seeking a highly energetic and collaborative individual to join our team in a role that combines approximately 50% technical support and 50% project work. You will handle high-priority and escalated network tickets while also contributing to network projects involving design, implementation, and improvements.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on networking experience along with excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and support secure WAN, LAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN environments using FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP platforms.
• Design, support and deploy & support enterprise wireless solutions

• Support Bulletproof's NOC environment and systems and provide best practice procedures for monitoring our clients
• Provide network capacity planning and availability analysis
• Support sales teams with pre-sales engineering, solution scoping, and BoM creation.

• Implement segmentation frameworks, micro-segmentation, and NAC policies.
• Tune security profiles include Web Filtering, Anti-Malware, Application Control, and Intrusion Prevention.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 5-7 years of networking experience
• A university degree, college certificate or diploma in information technology and/or have relevant experience and industry certification.
• Experience and/or certification in networking technologies, including Cisco, Palo Alto and Fortinet.
• Solid working knowledge of networking design, including Routing, LAN, WAN, and Wireless technologies including Fortinet and Cisco.
• Professional level experience working with switching and other technologies such as Spanning-Tree VLANs, QoS, IGMP, Multicast, MPLS, VPN hierarchical network architectures.
• Professional level experience working with advanced routing technologies such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and SD-WAN
• Experience supporting Enterprise and Public Cloud hosted network environments.
• Experience management and monitoring platforms using protocols such as SNMP, SSH and APIs.

Certifications ( Strongly preferred ):

• Fortinet NSE 5 (FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer)
• Fortinet NSE 6 (Advanced Security, OT Security,SD-WAN)
• Fortinet NSE 7 (Enterprise Firewall, Public Cloud)
• Palo Alto PCNSE
• Cisco CCNA

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure Networking including virtual Fortigate and Azure Network Services.
• Experience with Fortinet Technologies such as: FortiGate, FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator + FortiToken as well as SAML Authentication with Clouds, FortiSwitch / FortiAP (secure switching & wireless), FortiEMS / FortiClient (endpoint security) Experience with ZTNA is an asset.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes is an asset.
