Job summary

Dayforce, a global HCM company based in Toronto, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design and build core services for AI-enabled agent platform. You will focus on backend, reliability, and scalable infrastructure in distributed systems.

You will implement APIs, security patterns, observability, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to enable integration with Agent Platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering enterprise-level software
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development
• Experience building high performing, scalable applications
• Experience with C# and the .NET framework
• Experience with SQL, T-SQL, database design and query optimization
• Familiarity with agile development environments

About the opportunity

Dayforce is building a next-generation Agent Platform to power intelligent automation, AI-driven workflows, and tool-enabled execution across our product ecosystem.

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to design and build core services that enable secure, scalable, and observable AI agent execution. This role focuses on deep technical implementation, platform reliability, and enabling other engineering teams to successfully integrate with Agent Platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on engineer who thrives in distributed systems environments and enjoys solving complex backend and infrastructure challenges.

What You'll Do

Core Engineering

• Design and implement production-grade backend services supporting AI-driven workflows
• Contribute to execution orchestration, task routing, and tool invocation systems
• Develop APIs and service contracts that are stable, extensible, and well-documented
• Implement robust authentication, authorization, and secure execution patterns

Reliability & Observability

• Build systems with strong logging, metrics, and tracing from the ground up
• Improve system resilience, fault tolerance, and performance
• Participate in production readiness, monitoring, and incident response processes

Platform Enablement

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams integrating with the Agent Platform
• Provide technical guidance on best practices and integration patterns
• Contribute to reusable infrastructure components and developer tooling

Skills and experience we value

• Able to work with a distributed team
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development
• 5+ years of delivering enterprise-level software and building high performing applications
• In depth knowledge of C# and .NET framework
• Strong with SQL, TSQL, database design, and query optimization
• Experience building high performance and scalable applications
• Experience with or desire to work in an agile development environment
• Interest in AI-assisted software development and emerging technologies
• Exposure to integrating AI-powered capabilities or third-party AI services into applications
• Familiarity with modern AI developer tooling such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools
  Understanding of how AI and automation can enhance user and developer experiences
• Curiosity around practical applications of large language models (LLMs) within enterprise software
