Job summary

Mariner is seeking a Senior .NET Developer to join our talent pipeline and engage on client projects and internal initiatives in Halifax. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade apps using C#, .NET, RESTful APIs, and SQL Server while collaborating with architects, analysts, and product teams.

You will mentor junior developers, contribute to cloud modernization efforts, and participate in Agile practices. Remote-friendly, with opportunities across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software development with Microsoft tech.
  • Strong C#/.NET Framework/.NET Core/.NET 8 and ASP.NET Core.
  • Designing RESTful APIs and SQL Server databases.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade apps using Microsoft technologies.
  • Build scalable web apps, APIs, and backend services in C# and .NET.
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, PMs, and tech teams to deliver quality solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to cloud, modernization, and digital initiatives.

Overview

What You’ll Do
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Microsoft technologies.
  • Building scalable web applications, APIs, and backend services using C# and .NET.
  • Collaborating with architects, business analysts, project managers, and other technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participating in technical design, code reviews, and solution architecture discussions.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving application issues while ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Developing and optimizing database solutions and integrations.
  • Supporting Agile development practices and contributing throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Mentoring junior developers and sharing technical expertise across teams.
  • Contributing to cloud, modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in software development using Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong expertise in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core/.NET 8, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, database design, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with Entity Framework and modern development frameworks.
  • Proficiency with source control tools such as Git.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native development.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
  • Exposure to front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or Blazor.
  • Consulting, client-facing, or professional services experience.
  • Connect with a collaborative team focused on delivering exceptional client outcomes.
