Thales Canada, Defence & Security, supports the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) through its In-Service Support (ISS) Programs. Supporting over 70% of the RCN fleet through programs like AJISS and MWAV, Thales Canada provides maintenance, logistics support, engineering, and lifecycle management for naval platforms.
We seek a Naval Systems Engineer to contribute directly to Engineering Change (EC) processes within the AJISS program. The engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver enhanced capabilities for RCN platforms, covering all EC project stages. Familiarity with Systems Engineering practices is beneficial, and adaptability to new technologies is an asset.
Naval systems include, but are not limited to: Integrated Navigation Systems, Radars, GPS, AIS, Echo sounders, Lighting, and Meteorological Systems. The engineer will integrate sensors, software, firmware, and applications on military and commercial platforms, including:
Specific duties include researching naval systems, generating engineering solutions, producing technical documentation, conducting shipboard system surveys, planning and executing tests, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of Class requirements, Lloyds Register, DNVGL standards, IEC standards, IMO, SOLAS, Transport Canada marine regulations is considered an asset.
Experience in marine in-service support, defense contracts, Naval Architecture, Marine Electrical, IPESA, C4 systems, or Communication Systems is an asset.
The total target compensation ranges from CAD 111,711 to CAD 201,817 annually, including salary and bonus. Additional benefits include health, dental, retirement plans, paid leave, and employee discounts.
