Job summary

AECOM is expanding its Water business in British Columbia and seeks an experienced Senior Civil/Municipal Engineer to lead complex municipal water and wastewater projects. You will guide design, deliver projects from concept to construction, and help expand the municipal practice across the Lower Mainland and BC.

You will build client relationships, lead pursuits, and win new work while balancing technical excellence with project leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical).
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in linear water and wastewater infrastructure design and construction.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer within Canada.
• Prior business development experience in water/wastewater conveyance systems.

Responsibilities

• Technical Oversight — Review designs, reports, specs and construction documents; guide multi-discipline team.
• Stakeholder Coordination — Collaborate with engineers, contractors, government agencies and the public.
• Project Planning & Delivery — Develop and manage plans, schedules, budgets and risk assessments.
• Contract & Procurement Management — Prepare RFPs, evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations.
• Budget & Financial Control — Track expenditures and forecast costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Risk & Issue Management — Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Reporting & Documentation — Prepare progress reports and documentation for leadership and stakeholders.
• Sustainability & Innovation — Integrate water conservation and climate resilience best practices.
• Business Development — Lead pursuit efforts and grow municipal water business.
