Job summary

WSP Canada in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia seeks a Municipal Engineering Lead to guide complex municipal infrastructure and land development projects across Atlantic Canada. You will mentor teams, strengthen client partnerships, and help grow a high-performing engineering practice.

The role focuses on leading diverse projects, ensuring technical excellence, managing budgets and schedules, and delivering sustainable solutions that align with client objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in municipal infrastructure, transportation and/or land development engineering; 10+ years is asset.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and eligibility to practice in Atlantic Canada.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and delivering complex municipal projects.
• Strong ability to manage budgets, schedules, resources and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, project and discipline leadership for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, overseeing scope, schedules, budgets, quality and risk.
• Build and maintain relationships with municipal, private sector, and institutional clients.
• Provide expertise in municipal servicing, transportation, stormwater, grading and water/wastewater design.
• Lead preparation and review of reports, specifications, design briefs and contracts.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and staff to foster technical excellence and leadership.
• Contribute to business growth through proposals and strategic planning.
• Champion innovative, sustainable engineering solutions for communities and clients.
• Support Atlantic Land Development and Municipal Engineering practice growth.
