Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking a Senior Multiplayer Programmer to design, implement, and optimize the networked systems powering large‑scale games. You will own the architecture and performance of the game’s online subsystems.

You will design, implement, and maintain realtime network functionality, collaborate with gameplay, engine, and backend teams, and mentor junior engineers. You will strive for low latency, efficient bandwidth use, and cross‑platform reliability.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience with AAA multiplayer games or large-scale networked systems.
  • Strong C++ skills, including high-performance programming, multithreading, and memory management.
  • Deep understanding of low-level networking concepts (protocols, sockets, reliability models) and high-level multiplayer systems (prediction, rollback, replication).
  • Ability to profile, debug, and optimize networked gameplay.
  • Strong communication skills for working with gameplay, engine, and backend teams.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor junior and intermediate programmers.
  • Stay current with networking technologies and propose improvements to existing systems.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Shipped at least one title on PC or console.
  • Experience with multithreaded programming techniques
