Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking an Application Developer specializing in MuleSoft in Canada. You will design, test, and deploy APIs and integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, leveraging RAML, REST, and SOAP.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in application development, systems integration, or API engineering.
• Hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Strong knowledge of API design and integration principles (RAML, REST, SOAP).
• Proficiency in Java and ESB-based applications.
• Experience implementing integration patterns and cloud/hybrid deployment models.
• MuleSoft Developer or Associate certification.
• Experience contributing to Generative AI and/or agentic AI solutions.
• Strong grounding in software engineering fundamentals (testing, debugging, quality-focused delivery).

Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Developer specializing in MuleSoft, you will create, test, and deploy APIs and integrations using MuleSoft's Anypoint platform. You will utilize your strong understanding of API design principles, including RAML, REST, and SOAP, to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy APIs and integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Deliver high-quality integration assets using API-led connectivity principles, reusable design patterns, and enterprise integration standards.
• Define, build, and maintain API specifications and services using RAML, REST, and SOAP.
• Develop integration components leveraging Java and ESB-based application architectures across cloud and hybrid deployment models.
• Support the implementation of AI-enabled integration solutions, including use cases involving Generative AI and agentic AI capabilities.
• Perform unit testing, system testing, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure solution quality and reliability.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including architecture, application development, QA, and project stakeholders, to deliver business-aligned outcomes.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, release activities, and ongoing enhancement of integration solutions.

• Experience implementing integration patterns and supporting cloud and hybrid deployment models.
• MuleSoft Developer or Associate certification.
• Experience contributing to Generative AI and/or agentic AI solutions, including integration of AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise workflows or platforms.
• Strong grounding in software engineering fundamentals, including testing, debugging, maintainability, and quality-focused delivery.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience with MuleSoft Cloud deployment approaches.
• Familiarity with AI service integration, workflow orchestration, or intelligent automation patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience in consulting, enterprise transformation, or client-facing delivery environments.
• Experience supporting production operations and continuous improvement for integration solutions.
