We are looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer on our BiblioApps team that is passionate about making an impact to help millions of library users discover and consume more physical and digital content through their smartphones. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance the patron experience by building a market leading e-reading solution in our app. If you have experience building e-reading experiences, whether on iOS, Android or both, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a 1-year contract remote role based in Canada, with a potential option for renewal.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Work as part of a team on a scalable, user-friendly and performant e-reading solution within our mobile apps to enhance the patron experience for millions of users
• Lead the identification and resolution of complex issues, such as DRM management
• Write robust and quality code with appropriate tests
• Take ownership for the design, development and operationalization of features
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross functional members such as Product, UX, QA and other development teams
• Participate in architecture designs, code review, and best practice discussions

What you will bring to the team:

• 5+ years of professional native app (iOS or Android or both) development experience
• Experience building e-reading app solutions, including DRM management
• Strong theoretical foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices
• Proven experience consuming RESTful API applications
• Have a mindset for end-to-end ownership of features
• Strong communication skills and collaborative across teams
• Passionate, motivated, and capable of working autonomously
