Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Machine Learning Developer to design, build, ship, and operate model-driven optimization apps at scale. The role focuses on algorithms and pipelines that convert complex scheduling problems into fast, reliable customer results.

With 5+ years of experience and a CS/SE degree, you’ll work on Python-heavy stack, plus Java/JavaScript/Kubernetes/GraphQL as bonuses. You’ll collaborate across teams and engage directly with customers to deliver AI-powered value.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field.
• Strong command of OOP, data structures, algorithms, system design, concurrency, parallelism, APIs, data modeling, and testing.
• Experience with Python is strongly preferred; Java, JavaScript, Kubernetes or GraphQL are a bonus.
• Ability to design efficient algorithms from scratch and direct AI coding agents.
• Experience delivering reliable, scalable optimization solutions.
• Excellent collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Build Optimization applications. Design, build and operate applications built around advanced optimization models in production at scale.
• Build automated evaluation and test model behaviour. Design and operate the evaluation system that supports development and delivering features with confidence.
• Specify precisely and direct AI coding agents. Convert requirements into testable specifications with explicit scope, constraints, and acceptance criteria.
• Own quality, safety, and reliability in production. Manage deployments, monitor service availability, implement alerting and respond to customer issues.
• Deliver as a forward deployed engineer. Work closely with customers to help them get to value faster.
• Collaborate across product, design, and engineering. Align on tradeoffs and communicate capability and risk clearly.
