Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Lead Specialist Mining Engineer in Corporate Development to shape our future portfolio. You will test concepts, develop mine design and optimisation solutions across open pit and underground opportunities, and support growth, due diligence, and asset transformation studies.

You will work with technical and commercial experts, influence major growth decisions, and progress through a dynamic, international environment that accelerates your career development.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mining Engineering; postgraduate degree preferred.
• ~15 years of relevant experience across technical and operational roles.
• Experience in open pit and underground mining environments; multiple mining methods.

Responsibilities

• Review data room information and geological models to inform mine designs.
• Develop mine designs and schedules from concept to detail for open pit and underground projects.
• Conduct optimisation studies to identify economically viable sequences and scenarios.
• Generate long term plans for cash flow, mine life, and NPV with scheduling software.
• Prepare decision-ready technical reports and support due diligence.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
