Job summary

Omya Canada Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Engineering Specialist for our Perth, Ontario operation. You will lead process optimization, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement across the plant, supporting automation, material flows and CAPEX projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, 5+ years in heavy industry, and strong data-driven problem solving. On-site work with a rural industrial environment, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth are

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years (10 preferred) in industrial or process engineering within heavy industry.
Experience with CAPEX projects, feasibility studies and execution.
Experience in project management across full project lifecycle.
Experience with maintenance, reliability and preventive maintenance practices.
Experience with quality assurance, laboratory testing and process validation.

Responsibilities

Lead process optimisation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance and stability.
Analyse operational and production data to improve efficiency, cost performance and product quality.
Design, develop and optimize manufacturing systems, including automation, robotics and material flows.
Conduct time studies, work simplification programs and production system improvements.
Plan plant layouts, facilities and integrated manufacturing systems.
Evaluate industrial facilities and identify improvement opportunities, including waste reduction and resource optimization.
Establish performance standards and conduct performance reviews.
Develop maintenance standards, preventive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives.
Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams, including diagnostic testing and corrective adjustments.
Support process design, equipment upgrades, commissioning and capital projects from feasibility through execution.
