Position Overview
Calian is seeking Senior Military Occupational Instructors (MOC) to join our team at CFB Borden, ON, in support of upcoming training serials. These full-time positions involve delivering high-quality instruction in military supply chain management, specifically in QL3, QL5, QL6A Material Management, and ideally ALNG Control and Packaging of Hazardous Materials.
We are looking for candidates with strong, real-world experience who can engage students through a mix of asynchronous and synchronous teaching, curriculum development, and performance assessments.
While civilians who meet the requirements are welcome to apply, our ideal candidates will be former or current Supply Technicians with military experience, particularly those familiar with Canadian Armed Forces logistics training environments.
We are actively seeking bilingual English and French resources to support bilingual delivery of instruction.
Responsibilities
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Delivering expert instruction in the knowledge and skills required for Canadian Forces personnel in Material Management and Hazardous Materials packaging.
- Enhancing the course curriculum with operational insight and professional experience.
- Using MS Office Suite, MS Teams, and other DND IT systems for instruction, evaluation, and communication.
- Developing and delivering lesson plans for both in-class and virtual environments.
- Supporting the design and delivery of learning activities and performance assessments.
- Working closely with the Course Director (CD) and Incremental Staff (IS) to ensure instructional alignment.
- Creating and grading assignments and assessments based on standardized rubrics for QL3, QL5, QL6, and ALNG content.
- Providing ongoing student feedback and addressing learning gaps.
- Hosting regular student engagement sessions, including orientation and office hours.
- Administering first aid if necessary during training to ensure a safe learning environment.
Qualifications
- Instructional Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching material management topics, including QL3, QL5, and QL6 military supply operations.
- Operational Background: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in military material management, supply logistics, and hazardous material handling—preferably as a CAF Supply Technician.
- Safety Training: Valid Standard First Aid certification.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English or French (bilingualism is an asset).
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible for Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
