Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Canada seeks a highly skilled MS Fabric Administrator to lead the management, governance and optimization of our enterprise data platform.

You will oversee Fabric tenants, capacities, and security configurations to enable efficient data product development. You will collaborate with data engineers and analysts, enforce RBAC, manage Power BI integrations, ensure regulatory compliance, and stay current with Fabric roadmap.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Synapse and related data platform technologies.
• Experience with data governance tooling and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft Fabric tenants, capacities, and workspaces including OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Notebooks, Pipelines, and Dataflows.
• Configure security settings, data access, and governance policies (sensitivity labels, DLP, workspace standards).
• Implement RBAC and least-privilege access controls across the platform.
• Oversee Fabric capacity utilization and monitor performance, memory usage, and logs.
• Manage data pipelines, Lakehouses, and Warehouses to meet enterprise analytics needs.
• Monitor data refresh processes and platform health to proactively resolve issues.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to support end-to-end data product development.
• Enforce naming conventions, governance strategies, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (GDPR, HIPAA).
• Provide user training and documentation on Fabric and related tools.
• Stay current with Fabric roadmap and communicate impacts to team leads.
• Perform audits of user access and security configurations to improve security and optimization.
• Manage Power BI tenant settings and integrate with Fabric governance.
• Support DevOps/CI-CD workflows for Fabric development.
