Job summary

Fleet Canada is seeking a seasoned Senior Methods Planner to support aerospace manufacturing planning, estimating, and process development at our Fort Erie facility. You will analyze technical drawings, develop manufacturing procedures, and prepare cost and material estimates ensuring alignment with engineering, quality, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing knowledge with exposure to composite processes and the ability to work with technical documents and shop

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of related on-the-job experience in methods/planning or aerospace manufacturing.
• Experience reading aerospace prints, drawings, specs, and technical documents.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, composites, fabrication, and shop floor workflow.
• Experience preparing manufacturing plans, work instructions, cost and material estimates, schedules, and reports.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems, item masters, planning, and document control.

Responsibilities

• Analyze aerospace drawings and technical documents to plan parts, assemblies and processes.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing planning for parts, assemblies, and composites.
• Develop plans for new composite products with cross-functional teams.
• Create integrated procedures and work instructions to meet production needs.
• Estimate costs and materials; obtain supplier quotes as needed.

Job Summary:

Fleet Canada is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Methods Planner to support aerospace manufacturing planning, estimating, and process development. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing technical drawings, developing manufacturing procedures, preparing cost and material estimates, and ensuring all planning activities meet engineering, customer, quality, and configuration control requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing knowledge, hands-on experience or direct exposure to composite manufacturing processes, and the ability to work confidently with technical documents and shop floor operations. Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical understanding, communication, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality, Document Control, and Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret aerospace drawings, prints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing planning for parts, assemblies, composites, and fabrication processes.
• Develop and support prototyping and manufacturing plans for new composite products with manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams.
• Develop integrated manufacturing procedures and work instructions to support production requirements.
• Estimate costs for assembly, composites, fabrication, manufacturing, inspection, and related processes.
• Obtain cost and material estimates from subcontractors and suppliers as required.
• Plan the flow of parts through manufacturing while ensuring quality, engineering, and customer requirements are met.
• Support MRP system activities, including tool orders, item masters, planning, and document control functions.
• Ensure planning aligns with required material finishes, processing requirements, inspection needs, and customer specifications.
• Use CAD data and technical documentation to support accurate planning and process development.
• Conduct work measurement, time studies, work simplification, and related process improvement activities.
• Collect and compile operational data to assist in developing estimates, schedules, specifications, and reports.
• Prepare cost estimates, material estimates, project schedules, reports, and planning documentation.
