Responsibilities

The Senior Medicare-Medicaid Biller/Collector is responsible for billing and collections, including gathering and securing all necessary information for billing, follow-up, and payment of accounts in accordance with payer guidelines, policies, procedures, and compliance regulations for Medicare-Medicaid. This includes maintaining deficiency lists for missing documents, resolving claim rejections, packaging claims (including global billing with attachments), performing proactive follow-up with payers, and securing payment of accounts. The senior biller/collector is accountable for billing through account closure.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Minimum of three years hospital managed care/commercial collector experience.
• Two years of recent hospital Medicare billing experience in an automated environment.
• Associates degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Knowledge of contract interpretation.
• Familiarity with hospital billing requirements.
• Knowledge of out-of-state Medicaid billing guidelines.
• Understanding of basic Medicaid/Medicare billing rules, regulations, and deadlines.
• Experience with all payer types including commercial, governmental, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, etc., and ability to cross-over between payers.

The estimated total compensation range for this role is $21.00 to $38.00, which includes wages, benefits, and other compensation.
