Job summary

Shared Health – Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg is seeking a Charge Medical Laboratory Technologist to oversee daily operations of their laboratory section. The role includes administrative, supervisory, technical and educational duties in accordance with quality assurance and accreditation standards.

Requirements include a Medical Laboratory Technology program graduate, current CMLTM registration or eligibility, CSMLS asset, and five years’ relevant experience with leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' recent extensive work experience in a related area including supervisory and/or administrative experience required.
• Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program.
• Successful completion of the CMLTM Prior Learning Assessment process for a discipline specialty, as deemed by the Employer may also be considered.
• Advanced academic achievement (e.g., A.R.T. or B.Sc.) preferred.
• Relevant courses or seminars preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of their section of the laboratory.
• Maintain a safe environment and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and Accreditation standards.
• Coordinate workflow, supervise and promote teamwork.
• Apply technical knowledge to interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and assessment of methods.
• Follow instructions precisely with attention to detail.
