Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Medical Director to lead strategic health care initiatives, engage with providers and employers, and drive value-based care across clinical operations. The position emphasizes strategy development, operational oversight, and collaboration with internal teams to advance BCNC’s mission.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with residency training completed.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• Current North Carolina medical license.
• Board certification in ABMS/AOA recognized clinical specialty is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and approach for varied Health Care initiatives.
• Oversee medical reimbursement, care management and quality programs.
• Develop strategic partnerships with internal and external partners.
• Engage with providers, employers, and regulators as needed.
• Represent BCNC in advisory groups and external presentations.
