Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Senior Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join the team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!As a Senior Medical Device Reprocessing Technician at Vancouver General Hospital you will:

  • Work as a member of an integrated team and assists in ensuring that the overall equipment/supply requirements within a fast paced, a high volume medical device reprocessing environment are met.
  • Maintain efficient workflow and provide work direction to Technicians as required as well as decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, wrapping, sterilizing and distributing simple and complex instruments, equipment and linen related to the operating rooms and other areas of the hospital.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing course.
  • Two (2) year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
