Role Summary & Impact

The Senior Media Planner is responsible for developing client-specific media plans across all media disciplines, providing supporting research, and maintaining day-to-day client contact and servicing on assigned accounts. This role may also include supervising and training junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service

  • Maintain day-to-day client contact.
  • Carry out client requests and assist with projects for the group.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with clients, external agencies, and media partners.

Leadership

  • Supervise the workflow of Media Planners and Assistant Media Planners to ensure timely completion of tasks and monitor project status.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members.

Planning

  • Develop client-specific media plans across all channels.
  • Interpret competition and other research data.
  • Implement EssenceMediacom Systems Thinking into plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Investment Finance, Strategy, and BI&A to develop plans and meet client service requirements.
  • Oversee media accounting and administrative duties, including monthly media expenditure reports (BCRs).
  • Participate in client plan presentations.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of online and offline planning.
  • Proficiency with research tools such as IMS Infosys, COMBNavigator, ComScore, Nielsen.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Team-oriented with collaborative skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Developing presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of the client's business.
  • Mathematical competency and accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands within timelines.
  • At least 3 years of experience in media planning.
  • Post-secondary degree in Advertising and/or Marketing is an asset.

The salary range for this position is between $52,500 and $75,500 CAD annually.
