OVERVIEW :

Mindshare is looking for a Senior Media Buyer Media Investment with a passion for marketing and a strong understanding of the media landscape. This role is in the Investment Team and works closely with media vendors to bring our media plans to life. Working in conjunction with our Media Planners this function is responsible for the negotiating and purchasing of media real estate an integral part of capturing our clients vision to reach an intended audience and delivering the best outcomes for the company and our clients.

The Senior Media Buyer provides counsel to the Media Planners and client teams regarding marketplace rates and conditions drives the buying and negotiating process for assigned clients and ensures a high quality of execution.

This is a 360 media investment role which means the job requires developing executing and reconciling both digital and broadcast go-to-market recommendations. If you dont have a background in both you must be open to being trained on digital or broadcast buying to augment your buying skills.

How you will make an IMPACT :

  • Provide / oversee go to market insight select vendors / sites and provide rationales on these sites acting as a connection point for vendors / partners
  • Be a point of contact for clients and lead client status calls; presenting insights post wraps optimizations and other findings to clients
  • Partner with the Manager in development of communications with planning team including buy authorizations tracking reports buy changes creative specifications etc.
  • Take an active role in coordinating all reporting with planning and analytics
  • Liaise with the planning team to deliver the digital portion of the overall strategy - Provide Digital market research / insight and POVs
  • Ongoing management and stewardship of campaigns (pacing updates in Prisma etc.)
  • Provide and obtain information and intelligence from Mindshare and GroupM Trading leadership to be presented to planning team and clients when appropriate
  • Accurate and timely vendor invoice approval and budget reconciliation

What YOU bring :

  • College diploma or Bachelors Degree preferably in advertising marketing business administration or communications or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant media experience digital strategy / buying or planning preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with media tools (i.e. Prisma Mediaocean) and 3 rd party syndicated research resources (ComScore and Numeris )
  • Comfortable working with budgets and numbers - must love data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; proven ability to prioritize and organize workload and operate under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with other cross-functional teams
  • Strong leadership customer service and communications skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity - flexible and adaptable with a willingness to learn and assist wherever needed
