Job summary

Ausenco in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for our Industrial & Infrastructure team. You will supervise engineers, review deliverables, and provide high-level technical guidance across projects from concept through detailed design.

You will oversee equipment procurement, manage man-hour budgets, and help develop contracts while mentoring staff and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering and licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• 8–15 years of progressive consulting engineering experience in the Industrial sector in Ontario.
• Strong motivation and accountability to deliver results within a mechanical team.
• Experience with Process Flows, Equipment Layouts, and P&ID.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design per timeframes and standards, supervising engineers and reviewing deliverables.
• Specify requirements and assist procurement with equipment purchases.
• Manage man-hour budgets and review capital cost estimates; suggest alternatives.
• Assist in development and review of relevant mechanical contracts and provide input.
• Issue drawings and information for construction with engineers and designers.
• Mentor and support project team members to achieve high performance.
• Contribute to business growth through project development activities.
