Job Description

The employee will be responsible for the design of mechanical components of alternators for hydroelectric projects in North America. Mandatory experiences in alternator hydraulic design.

He/she will also be responsible for coordinating the project engineers and giving technical support for the supply chain and SI activities.

  1. Deliver design batches for alternator components on hydro-electric projects in North America;
  2. Coordinate all alternator engineering activities of a project;
  3. Participate in and initiate design reviews with engineers, experts and other departments;
  4. Supervise the work of design engineers and drafters to deliver calculation notes, engineering specifications, drawings and BOMs;
  5. Collaborate with other engineers from different centres of excellence around the world;
  6. Collaborate with supply chain and site installation managers;
  7. Apply the rules and concepts for reliability, quality, safety and cost;
  8. Collaborate with engineering managers on different projects;

Qualifications

  1. Baccalaureate in mechanical engineering;
  2. Strong material strength skills;
  3. 5 to 10 years of experience in alternator mechanics;
  4. Proactivity, sense of urgency, autonomy;
  5. Excellent communication and leadership skills;
  6. Good analytical skills;
  7. Team player, positive, willing to learn and adapt to business needs;
  8. Bilingual in English/French; or only English is acceptable as well. The employee will be brought to interact with colleagues from our other facilities across and/or outside of Canada, and who are generally speaking only English or work is primarily English.
  9. Ability to travel occasionally (5-10%);
  10. Member of the Canadian professional engineer of Ontario;
  11. You must agree to undergo a pre-employment check, including but not limited to reference and background checks;
  12. You must have the right to work without restriction in Canada.

Additional Information

Knowing how to use CAD tools is a plus.
