Join to apply for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role at Wood.

Wood is searching for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer interested in machinery dynamics and vibration to join our team in Calgary, AB. The role involves evaluating compressor and pumping systems to resolve reliability risks such as pulsations, torsional or lateral vibration, mechanical resonance, transients, fatigue, and surge. The successful candidate will support our Vibration, Dynamics, and Noise team and contribute to projects globally.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform design studies and provide technical support for machinery packages and piping systems.
• Focus on reciprocating compressors and pumping systems, including pulsation analysis, mechanical analysis, skid design, and piping layout.
• Expand to torsional vibration analysis, platform dynamics, foundation design, flow studies, surge control, and field troubleshooting.
• Use proprietary and commercial software (e.g., ANSYS, CAESAR II, AutoCad, SolidWorks) for modeling and analysis.
• Support project planning, provide application advice, and prepare technical reports.
• Adhere to Wood's EH&S policies and develop strong client relationships.

Qualifications:

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering (MSc or PhD preferred).
• 15+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 in vibration, machinery performance, reliability, or acoustics.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
