Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer who possesses advanced knowledge and skills in designing system upgrades for existing mechanical systems. With over 10 years of direct work experience, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong project management abilities and a passion for incorporating energy efficiency, sustainability, and climate change considerations into their designs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct conceptual designs and detailed cost estimates for building system upgrades, develop business cases, and prepare client reports.
  • Carry out concept, schematic, and detailed design of building systems, applying engineering knowledge in preparing technical specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare tender documentation for equipment procurement and installation, coordinating with owner requirements.
  • Ensure construction and implementation meet agreed project timelines, coordinating with owners and constructors.
  • Conduct field reviews, review documents during construction, and provide instructions and solutions to ensure the project aligns with design intent and owner requirements.
  • Manage projects and phases, including resource planning, budgeting, change management, scope management, and schedule and contingency planning.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior team members.
  • Prepare technical responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and promote team services to existing and potential clients.
  • Lead or develop a service area.

  • More than ten years of direct experience in detailed design of building mechanical systems.

  • Applied knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability, and climate change considerations in designs.
Work Environment

The work environment involves leading and managing complex projects in various stages, from responding to RFPs to construction administration. The role requires interaction with owners and team members from various engineering disciplines to drive building system upgrades. The candidate will need to work closely with clients and team members to ensure that projects are executed within timelines and meet design intents.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
