Design Works Engineering in Edmonton, Alberta, is actively seeking a mechanical designer to join our growing team. You will coordinate and design mechanical building systems for diverse projects, working closely with engineers to deliver practical client solutions.

The role requires a diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related field, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. Excellent communication and safety‑minded collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, design, or technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, low‑ and high‑rise buildings, and multi‑family residential projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical building systems design.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide the coordination, verification, and design of mechanical building systems in various sectors (multi-family residential, commercial, industrial).
• Design mechanical building systems.
• Work closely with engineers to provide solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
• Understand and implement personal and company safety by adhering to all safety protocols.
• Assist in preparing, calculating, engineering, and designing drawings and specifications.
• Supervise, monitor, and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects.
