Job summary

Design Works Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) in Edmonton to lead mechanical design on commercial, institutional, and multi-family projects. You''ll own scope from concept through construction and coordinate with in-house teams.

Newly licensed engineers welcome. You must have 4–6 years of mechanical building design experience, HVAC and plumbing design, and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. On-site collaboration and client meetings are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• P.Eng. with APEGA, in good standing—newly licensed welcome.
• Around 4–6 years of mechanical building design experience, including EIT years.
• HVAC and plumbing design experience on commercial or multi-family buildings.
• Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and HAP or similar load software.
• Clear written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design on projects—from concept to construction.
• Run load calculations and size systems; produce Revit drawings.
• Coordinate with architects and in-house electrical, structural, fire protection and energy modelling teams.
• Be the mechanical point of contact for clients in meetings and on site.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; review their work.
