Job summary

Valiant TMS in Windsor, Canada is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead the design and development of custom hemming tools and mechanical systems. You will collaborate with engineering to meet cost, time, and performance targets.

You’ll prepare machine layouts, assemblies, and detailed drawings, manage design releases, and support manufacturing while documenting decisions with stakeholders. This role offers strong career growth and exposure to cutting-edge machining technologies.

Qualifications

• University engineering degree or mechanical tech diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design for tooling, automation, dies or hemming systems.
• Experience with hemming tools or sheet metal stamping recommended.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposals and specifications to conceive practical mechanical designs.
• Prepare overall machine layouts and sub-assemblies with predefined components.
• Create final assembly and detailed drawing packages.
• Prepare design release packages and track changes.
• Support design checkers and manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Communicate critical issues to the Manager or Leader.
• Document conversations with customers and maintain project logs.
